PAIA Manual
Information published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA).

1. Purpose of this manual
This manual explains what records NTSWAKAZA HOLDINGS (PTY) LTD holds and how a requester may ask for access to them under PAIA. It is published for the benefit of any person who wishes to exercise a right of access to information held by the company.
NTSWAKAZA HOLDINGS (PTY) LTD builds, develops and operates businesses and ventures across diverse industries, while offering a broad range of services that create practical value for our clients, partners and communities.
2. Contact details
All PAIA requests, queries and related correspondence must be sent by email to support@ntswakazah.co.za, addressed to the Information Officer of NTSWAKAZA HOLDINGS (PTY) LTD. The designated Information Officer’s particulars, together with the company’s registered address and registration details, will be published in this manual once formally confirmed.
3. Section 10 guide by the Information Regulator
The Information Regulator has compiled a guide, in terms of section 10 of PAIA, containing information to assist a person who wishes to exercise a right under the Act. The guide is available from the Information Regulator (South Africa) on request and on the Regulator’s official website.
4. Categories of records held
Records are held in electronic and, where applicable, paper form, and are not automatically available without a request. Categories include:
- Company and statutory records, including constitutional documents and corporate governance records.
- Financial and accounting records, including tax records.
- Contracts and agreements with clients, partners, suppliers and service providers.
- Operational records relating to the businesses, ventures and services of the company.
- Correspondence, including enquiries received through the corporate website.
- Personnel and human resources records, where applicable.
- Marketing, brand and website records.
5. Records available without a formal request
Information published on ntswakazah.co.za, and any material the company publishes voluntarily, is freely available and does not require a PAIA request.
6. Records held under other legislation
The company holds records in accordance with the legislation applicable to its activities from time to time, which may include the Companies Act, 71 of 2008, the Income Tax Act, 58 of 1962, the Value-Added Tax Act, 89 of 1991, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 75 of 1997, and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013. Records held under other legislation are not automatically available and remain subject to a PAIA request.
7. How to make a request
- Complete the prescribed PAIA request form issued under the Act.
- Send the completed form by email to support@ntswakazah.co.za, marked for the attention of the Information Officer.
- Provide sufficient detail to identify the record requested and to identify you as the requester, including an email address for our response.
- State the right you are seeking to exercise or protect, and explain why the record is required to exercise or protect that right.
- Indicate the form of access and the manner in which you wish to be informed of the decision.
8. Fees
A request fee and an access fee may be payable in accordance with the fees prescribed under PAIA. Where a fee is payable, we will inform you of the amount before processing the request, and the request will only be processed once the applicable fee has been paid. Personal requesters seeking their own personal information are not required to pay a request fee.
9. Our decision
We will respond within the period allowed by PAIA, generally 30 days from receipt of a complete request, which may be extended where the Act permits. We will notify you in writing of our decision and, where access is refused, the reasons for the refusal and your rights in relation to that decision.
10. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of Part 3 of PAIA, including the mandatory protection of the privacy of third parties, commercial information of third parties, confidential information, records privileged from production in legal proceedings, and the protection of research information.
11. Remedies
A requester who is dissatisfied with a decision may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or apply to a court with jurisdiction, in accordance with PAIA.

This manual is available on this page free of charge and may be requested by email at support@ntswakazah.co.za. It is reviewed and updated as required.
